Dress Code - Effective August 2007

West County Christian School strives for excellence in all areas by providing an atmosphere that is focused on and conducive to learning. A dress code that is in accordance with Scriptural guidelines helps contribute to the successful academic performance of the students and overall school spirit. Our school's dress code

  • Encourages a blameless testimony that glorifies God.

"Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, and in purity." I Timothy 4:12

"Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world…" Philippians 2:14-15

  • Allows our students to fulfill the Biblical mandate to be separate from the world.

"Wherefore come out from among them and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you." II Corinthians 6:17

"Abstain from all appearance of evil." I Thessalonians 5:22

  • Trains a student to submit to God-given authority.

"Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time…" II Peter 5:6

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Romans 12:1-2

  • Promotes unity among God's people.

"Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit of the bond of peace." Ephesians 4:3

"Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" Psalm 133:1
